The science of a better night
Things nobody tells you about your sleep.
Your body has to cool down to fall asleep.
Your core temperature drops about one degree to start sleep. A cool room around 15 to 19 degrees Celsius makes it easier. A heavy, hot pillowcase works against you.
Darkness isn't optional.
Light at night can delay melatonin. That's the hormone that tells your body it's time to sleep. Even a little light makes a difference.

The silk

Three numbers separate silk you'll still own in ten years from silk that shreds in its third wash. Most brands print none of them. Here's ours, and what each one actually means.
Momme
Momme is how silk is weighed. 22 is a heavy, dense weave: lustrous, durable, built to last. Lower counts of 16 to 19 are thinner and wear out faster.
Grade
The highest mulberry silk grade. The longest, most even fibers, woven into the smoothest and most consistent surface.
Mulberry
Pure mulberry silk on both sides. No polyester blends, no satin substitutes, no silk-look finish. Just the real fibre.

Heavy enough to last
22 momme. Most silk sold online is 16 to 19. Thinner, cheaper to make, and thin enough to split at the seams inside a year. Ours has weight in the hand. You can feel the difference before you've slept on it once.
Silk on both sides
A lot of pillowcases are silk on the side you see and polyester on the side you don't. Yours is Grade 6A mulberry on both faces, because you turn over in the night and the fabric shouldn't stop working when you do.
Built around your position
Side, back, or stomach. Each needs a different height and a different give. One pillow shape cannot serve all three, so we stopped pretending it could and built for each.
